ORBSCAN II sets a new standard for precision measurement of the anterior segment of the eye. Utilizing a scanning slit measurement system, the instrument provides the clinician with important diagnostic information about the cornea, iris, and lens. The Orbscan II topographer analyses the physical shape / contours of your cornea and allows the surgeon to decide if it has suitable shape, is healthy and thick enough for treatment. It is the only topographer currently available that measures the shape of both the front and back surface of the entire cornea (other systems only measure the front surface) and can therefore provide a complete picture off the thickness of cornea. The Orbscan II is able to provide such high precision information as it captures data within seconds from 9000 points on the cornea during each measurement.

Wavescan Wavefront System

WaveScan technology was originally developed for use in high-powered telescopes to reduce distortions when viewing distant objects in space. This technology has now been applied to laser vision correction, measuring imperfections in the eye never before measured using standard methods for glasses and contact lenses. WaveScan-based digital technology identifies and measures imperfections in your eyes 25 times more precisely than standard methods. The powerful WaveScan software translates the information into a set of CustomVue treatment instructions for the laser. These digital treatment instructions are then transferred to the laser, driving a new level of precision and accuracy.

The Advanced CustomVue procedure provides a full range of treatments for patients who have all forms of astigmatism, whether associated with nearsightedness, farsightedness or mixed astigmatism. The Advanced CustomVue procedure has the broadest FDA-approved, custom wavefront-guided treatments available today for individuals with myopia and hyperopia with or without astigmatism. This procedure has been approved for treating:
Myopia — up to 11.0 diopters of correction, with or without astigmatism up to -3 diopters
Hyperopia — up to 3 diopters of correction with or without astigmatism up to +2 Diopters
Mixed astigmatism up to 5 diopters
Monovision — retention of up to -2.0 D of myopia in the non dominant eye of patients with myopia up to -6.0 D and astigmatism up to -3.0 D
